I am an Assistant Professor of Management studying organizational behavior—the way people think, feel, act, and interact at work. My research centers on gender and relationships at work, with a particular focus on women's relationships with one another. I ask and answer questions such as, Which contextual features prevent versus promote woman-to-woman connections at work? What are the unique benefits, or costs, associated with varying forms of professional woman-to-woman relationships? My goal is to provide guidance to organizational actors regarding whether, when, and why they should devote resources to nurturing woman-to-woman relationships, and how to best do so. I also examine the complex, and frequently beneficial, effects of ambivalence (i.e., internal conflict) on work-related outcomes.
I earned my Ph.D. in the Rosenthal Department of Management at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Before studying at McCombs, I was a Management Consulting Associate at Guidehouse (formerly PwC Public Sector). I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I received a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Economics. I am originally from Potomac, Maryland.
Outside of work, I enjoy rock climbing, water coloring, creative writing, reading, and getting out on the water in any way, shape, or form with my friends and sweet pup.
